BOOKS AS GIFTS FOR THE HOLIDAYS?

The Holiday Season is quickly approaching and who does not love this time of year. We all look forward to the snow, the lights glowing everywhere. To prepare we decorate our homes and make lists of persons to whom we want to give gifts. We make plans for shopping and selecting just the right gift for each of the persons on our list. Families and friends, the young or older and decide what you think each would best enjoy receiving. For those of us who are readers and like to sit by the fireplace or other warm spot and read would be thrilled to receive a book and I have a simple and convenient solution for easy purchasing of a book or books; as a gift or for your own reading pleasure. I am an author of books and will be at three locations for a "Book Signing and Selling Event". Three books for Children and one for Adult enjoyment will be available for your selection. THE TEGLER BUILDING at 9918 - 149 Street. This Signing and Book Selling Event is planned for Thursday, September 24th, 2019 from 11 AM to 3 PM. THE RENAISSANCE at their Fall Bazaar. It is located on 89 Avenue & 156 Street. Easy to find - just behind the Meadowlark Shopping Center. This Event is on Saturday, September 26th from 10 AM to 3 PM. There will be other crafters there as well with ideas of their own for gift giving. THE CANTERBURY COURT located at 8403 - 142 Street. The date of this Event will be on Thursday, November 7th from 10 AM to 2 PM. I look forward to seeing you at one or all the locations and talking to you about my books or just meeting and chatting with you.

TO TOUCH BASES

It has seemingly been a long summer possibly due to the fact that the weather was so bleak, cold and extremely wet as you all well know. I was at the Callingwood Farmer's Market every week and that was one of the bright spots of the Summer because so many of you were there, rain or shine. It is now the Autumn season and I am looking forward to seeing some Autumn colors soon. The Market will be open until the Thanksgiving Weekend. Thank you all for stopping to talk and to the many who purchased one of my books and later came to tell me how you enjoyed my story. To the children who came by to give my a high five or tell me how much they liked the read. Also to the adults who said how much they liked, laughed and could relate to some of the happenings and situations in my book "As It Was", My Memoirs and Musings. It was great talking to you. I also want to say 'thanks' to the the customers who shopped at the West Side and the West Edmonton Mall Chapter Stores and who stopped at my table during my Book Signing Events there to talk or make a purchase. Again, discussions with the children as well as the adults were most encouraging.

EVENT NUMBER 0NE

I was so looking forward to Sunday, May 5th and being at the opening of the Callingwood Farmers Market, however, I am sad to inform that I will not be there. I'm certain it is obvious to everyone that the weather is not co-operating and the wet and snow is not the best condition to which one would expose books to. It is also rather cold outdoors and not a pleasant way to spend the day for oneself as well. My decision is to wait till the next Sunday and of course, the Market is open every Sunday over the Summer and into the Fall season. I plan on being there as often as possible and hope to see you all soon.

IT IS A LATE SPRING BUT NONETHELESS

IT HAS ARRIVED. The Farmers Markets will be open in May and I am planning on being there every Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM to meet you all as you walk through and inspect the tables and check out the wares each seller has to present. I have an addition this year. I have published another book, my fourth, and this one is aimed towards adults aged 50 years old and up. It is titled 'AS IT WAS - MY MUSINGS AND MEMORIES' and the stories I relate tell about life in the 1940's. There are serious moments and amusing ones but in writing this book it was my aim to entertain as well as inform. I will also have available the three Books for Children I have had the past several years for you to review and purchase. Opening date will be published soon in order to inform you further. I hope to see you all later in the Spring.

i"M ALL SET TO GO

THE NEW PUBLICATION OF 'AS IT WAS - MY MUSINGS AND MEMORIES' is now available for purchase. The fault on the cover has been corrected and looks great and with the new publication it feels like a new beginning for me. In this book I tell about my experiences while growing up on a farm in Willow Trail, Alberta in the 1940's. There were many stories to tell since I had eight siblings and we got into many interesting and funny situations. Purchase of the book may be done on line as well as that of my three books for children. Check those out as well. Any child in the 3 to 5 year old range you may want to purchase a book for, "IF YOU SEE A FRIEND" introduces you to Shy Sally and Brave Beau and teaches about friendship. "THE SPOOK-AIDERS and GREEDY GUS", a book suitable for early readers - 6 to 10 years of age is about proper eating habits and having fun playing active games and getting good exercise while doing so. The Spook-Aiders have their fun part in the story. "GRANDMA SAWYER and THE SOAP BUBBLE SPACESHIP" is also suitable for ages 6 - 10 years. Meet Captain Zolton who treats the family to activities in the spaceship but also points out several damaged Planets while flying through Space and cautions that we have to take good care of our Planets since it is very difficult to fix one that has been damaged. Read about Zolton's family and the fun Grandma Sawyer and her six grandchildren experience on their stay with Captain Zolton and his family on Planet Harn.
